Bishop Yu's Visit Dec. 11

Bishop Yu will be visiting us on Sunday, Dec. 11 and will celebrate Holy Eucharist with us as well as deliver the homily.
We would like to give him a warm welcome and invite him to a light lunch after church.We would appreciate it if you are able to bring a loaf of sandwiches or a pan of squares for this occasion. Thanks so much!

FaithWorks, the annual appeal of the Diocese of Toronto, raises money to support families in crisis, children, youth, and women in need, immigrants, the homeless, the imprisoned, those suffering from HIV/AIDS, and people living in the developing world. This year to date, we have raised $6,502.00, which is approximately $1, 250.00 less than last year at this time. As you can see, we have a long time to go! Please consider whether you are able to support this important outreach - all donations, large or small, are needed. Donation cards are available in the Narthex or you can put your donation in an envelope, marked "FaithWorks", on the offering plate.

Fundraising: Loblaws Cards

Please buy Loblaw's cards, available from Flo Blanchard. They are $25 or $50 each. The church makes 5% profit on each card sold. You can use them for your grocery shopping at Loblaws, ValuMart, No Frills, Superstore, etc. In this way you are helping to fundraise for the church every time you shop for groceries.

Fundraising Bottle Drive

This past Spring we started fundraising to pay for the new floor in our auditorium. To date we have raised $7,400.00 ($1, 600.00 short of the cost of the floor). To close the gap on the shortfall, we are asking that you support our new appeal and at the same time save our environment. Over the next 3 months we are asking that you bring your empty wine, liquor and beer bottles and cans to church. The church would then receive the deposit refund. The bottles may be left in the small shed, immediately to the left of the building, just inside the gate. We will be returning them regularly over the coming weeks.
Our goal was to reach 1,000 bottles by January 1, 2012. After only 2 weeks we have already reached 200 bottles. We are very pleased. If you are unable to bring these items to the church contact the church office at 416-221-7516.

Update from the Selection Committee

The Selection Committee met on Monday, October 17. The first part of the Parish Profile is in draft form and we are now working on the second half. The committee is also preparing a parish questionnaire which will be sent to all parishioners very soon. We want to know your opinion and thoughts. We hope that you will all complete the survey as this will ensure that the committee is aware of your concerns.

Kids Have Stress, Too.

Kids have Stress Too is a free workshop for parents and caregivers of young children to learn to recognize and help young children deal with stress.
