The Church of the Incarnation, in conjunction with the community group, SPARROW, has sponsored a Syrian family. They have been here over a year and the financial obligation has been completed. We are still supporting them with English lessons, banking assistance and business forms. They are all still attending ESL classes and the son is working part time as much as he is able.
Sadly, when they left Syria, they left behind family members. One daughter had to flee Syria (after her husband disappeared and has not been heard from since) with her two children. They are living in Jordan as UNHRC refugees. Their situation is precarious and the children have never been to school. There are few jobs in Jordan for the mother to support her family.
SPARROW with the help of AURA, is working to reunite the daughter and children with our refugee family. . It is a lengthy process, but in the meantime, we are raising funds to facilitate this. Trinity Presbyterian Church and some funds left over from the previous sponsorship are helping us get close to our goal.
